Logistics Company OCR Inspection System Development

Significantly reduce errors during inspection by using an application that reads cargo information

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

A logistics company had been inspecting cargo by writing down cargo information on a form when inspecting loads, but there were problems with errors and omissions in the writing, so the company needed to optimize the inspection process to improve accuracy.
AsiaQuest, which specializes in developing smartphone applications that use Google Cloud Vision API for character recognition and barcode reading, was selected to develop the system.

BRAND EXPERIENCE

After sending images captured from an Android device camera to Google Cloud Vision API, the system calculates the match rate based on the return value and database information, and presents the item with the highest match rate to the worker, thereby reducing the possibility of human error during the inspection process. In addition, by supporting a barcode reading function, barcode inspections are also possible, making it possible to accommodate a variety of operational methods. Cargo information can be registered and edited via a web application, leading to reduced management costs.

In the future, we aim to link with core systems and horizontally expand similar systems to other companies.
