Developed EC site for branded sneakers

Based in Fukuoka, UPTOWN Ltd. has been selling apparel in Kyushu for more than 20 years and is a well-known branded sneaker retailer. Asia Quest received a request to develop an EC site "UPTOWN Deluxe" operated by UPTOWN, and after conducting interviews and defining requirements, we customized EC-CUBE to build the EC site.

The EC cart service used before the renewal had limitations in customization, and the customer felt it was difficult to use. At the same time, we had benchmarked major e-commerce sites and had an image of the functions we wanted to achieve, so instead of building everything from scratch, we selected EC-CUBE, which had some functions from the ground up and could be flexibly developed with customization for additional functions we wanted to achieve.



AsiaQuest was in charge from the requirement definition phase, and after considering whether to develop based on open source such as EC-CUBE or scratch development, etc., we proposed customized development based on EC-CUBE and promoted the project.
In particular, we focused on sales management functions, customizing backyard functions and realizing a system that enables smooth sales management.
In addition to the normal EC functions, we also developed our own fair and impartial lottery function, and implemented countermeasures against the buying up of sneakers for the purpose of resale.

The infrastructure has been selected for AWS to withstand instantaneous increases in access due to the nature of the brand-name products handled, and Auto Scaling groups have been set up to enable scaling as needed. The DB is also configured to use RDS to flexibly handle future increases in the number of accesses and data volume.
In addition, the system uses AWS functions such as builds using Code Pipeline and log collection using Lambda to facilitate system operation.


By moving away from EC cart services, which had many restrictions, and using EC-CUBE, we were able to lower the cost of implementing standard functions while achieving a speedy implementation and a system configuration that can guarantee future scalability.
In addition, by adopting AWS for the infrastructure, a flexible configuration can be built to accommodate future business growth, and scalability can be ensured as needed.



After the introduction of the system, we plan to develop a mobile application to flexibly expand the system in response to requests from users and administrators, as well as to provide more operable and convenient functions.
