Developed an EC system that allows customers to apply for electronic device rentals from overseas and settle payment by credit card.
Background & Purpose
A company that operates an electronics rental business for the domestic market wanted to develop a system that would allow foreigners to apply for rentals from overseas and pay in advance, in response to the recent increase in inbound tourists.
The company had a system that had been developed primarily for the domestic market, and considered modifying that system, but it had been in use for many years and modification was not an easy task. Therefore, a new cross-border EC system with multilingual support was required.
AsiaQuest, which has a wealth of EC sites and specializes in building multilingual sites, was selected to develop the system.
Brand Experience
Since the client wanted to start small and keep the budget low, we implemented only the minimum necessary functions for EC and built the EC site with a minimum man-hour requirement.
The site is available in Japanese, English, and Indonesian, and can be rented in any language with credit card payment.
Outlook for the future
Currently, the service is available in three languages (Japanese, English, and Indonesian), but with the increase in the number of tourists visiting Japan, additional development is planned in Korean, Chinese, and other Asian languages.
